To celebrate the Lunar New Year season and drive ambassadorship and brand affinity with key creators, friends of the brand and top clients, Mother Sauce created a Lunar New Year gifting box for Hennessy X.O., a higher marque of the Hennessy family of cognacs. The gifting collection, concepted by Mother Sauce and designed and produced in collaboration with our artisan partners, explored themes of joy and togetherness while celebrating the bespoke art and wares of AAPI creatives, makers, and artisans in NYC and Hong Kong. With deep roots in their ancestral heritage, the artisan partners that we brought on board for this project honored the tradition of the holiday, while incorporating their craft and embodying the enduring spirit of "Never Stop, Never Settle", Hennessy's motto.
Hennessy Lunar New Year Gifting
Rather than simply create branded items, each bespoke gift was designed and handcrafted exclusively for Hennessy, drawing inspiration from the craft inherent in the creation of Hennessy’s cognac, and made to enhance the Hennessy XO enjoyment experienc while introducing gifting recipients to these emerging creative talents in the AAPI community. Partners included Wing on Wo & Co, the oldest continuously operating store in Manhattan’s Chinatown, specializing in creating and sourcing the finest porcelain wares and cultural goods, and Zoey Xinyi Gong, a chef trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), tea specialist and cookbook author, food therapist & educator, and owner of the Silver Root Apothecary in Shanghai, where she moved from Brooklyn in 2024. W.O.W created custom red, fine porcelain year of the dragon tea cups that could double as cocktail glasses, incorporating the Hennessy logo and dragon motifs from the limited editioin Lunar New Year bottle gift pack. Zoey created a custom tea blend, inspired by TCM and the notes of Hennessy XO, to be paired with Hennessy XO either as a frozen tea rock, enjoyed on its own, or to enhance the liquor itself as an infusion with TCM medicinal benefits.
